Group Tours

The Heritage Center welcomes groups of visitors from a club or class to a coach bus.

  • For groups of adults, please call 215–679–3103 or email info@schwenkfelder.org in advance to schedule a time for your group.

  • For programs serving public and parochial schools, scouts, families, homeschool groups, and other youth organizations, please contact our Museum Educator, Merdith Reinhart, meredith@schwenkfelder.org.

Your visit can be as long or as short as you like. Typically we will provide a group orientation and then allow your group to tour on its own. We recommend planning at least 1-1/2 hours, especially if you desire a barn tour. (Barn tours are a guided 20–30 minute experience.) There is no charge for this type of visit, but we do happily accept donations.

If your group has a particular interest, let us know. We offer special topical tours on the following subjects, but may be able to customize a visit for your group:

  • Farm Life in the Upper Perkiomen Valley

  • The Schwenkfelder Story – From Caspar Schwenckfeld through the Early Pennsylvania Immigration

  • Fraktur–A Pennsylvania German Folk Art

  • Library Treasures

  • Samplers and Other Needlework

Want to combine your visit with a meal? Our Accommodations & Dining page lists area restaurants. Pizza Como has a large room that groups may use. In addition, we list nearby parks that have picnic pavilions.

In addition to tours at the Heritage Center, we also can bring programs directly to your organization. Please see the Speakers Bureau page for topics.
