Tangermünde as the Schwenkfelders would have seen the town from their boats. We leave the Elbe now and head east back to Berlin.

Not far from Berlin is Potsdam, once the summer residence of Frederick II. In the left foreground is the grave of the king. The stones behind it are the graves of his dogs.

At the end of the tour we were invited to a cookout at the home of Eckhard and Thekla Beneke, friends of Allen. We arrived as the sun was setting, and candles provided light at the table.

Tables and grills had been set up in the back yard. Eckhard grilled steaks and sausage.

On the last day people had a chance to wander around Berlin on their own. The Reichstag with its dome on the left.
