For the Beauty of the Earth
September 28, 2008-November 8, 2008

The Heritage Center and the Lorax Foundation are collaborating to raise awareness of the need to preserve open space in our communities and our many significant historic resources through the photo contest and exhibit, For the Beauty of the Earth. All entries will be exhibited. The Lorax Foundation is the sponsor of the first prize, $100 in the adult category. Second place prizes were sponsored by Stauffer Manufacturing and the third place prize by East Greenville photographer Steve Pestrock.

Exhibit runs through November 8, 2008

    "For the Beauty of the Earth" Photo Contest 2008

    Submissions accepted from May-September 2, 2008.
    Guidelines for submission
  • One submission per person
  • Photographs may be no larger than 8"x10"
  • All photographs must be matted
  • Mat or frame size cannot exceed 12"x14"
  • Photographs must be of the natural or historic landscape in the following southeastern Pennsylvania counties: Philadelphia, Delaware, Chester, Montgomery, Bucks, Lehigh and Berks
  • Natural landscape: nature, plants, animals, family, friends or pets interacting in the southeastern Pennsylvania landscape
  • Historic landscape: historic sites and places in southeastern Pennsylvania
  • All submissions will be exhibited
  • Judges include Rebecca Lawrence, Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center and Bob Exposito, Hearthstone Town and Country
  • First, Second, Third place, Honorable Mention, People's Choice award for each category
  • The three categories are: Adult (18 and older); Child (7-13); Child (14-17)
  • $100 cash prize award to First Place in Adult category, sponsored by the Lorax Foundation
  • A self addressed, stamped envelope must be included with your mailed entry or please indicate on your completed form when you will pick up your entry at the Heritage Center
