Homeschool Programs

The Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center offers a variety of homeschool programs, from single session workshops and tours to multiple session classes about local art and culture. Click on the programs to your right or below for more information.

Family & Homeschool Workshops

Our homeschool workshops run on a biweekly basis on Tuesdays from 3:30pm-5:00pm and Thursdays from 1:30pm-3:30pm. Workshops are scheduled only on Thursdays throughout the summer. Workshops include a gallery activity and hands on project corresponding to our permanent or temporary exhibits.
If you can't make it to an assigned date, we can offer the same program to your group at an alternate date and time during the month or at a future date. Group minimum is 5 participants.

German and Latin Language Programs

Beginner-Advanced German and Latin courses are offered on a month by month basis throughout the school year for homeschoolers from September through May. To accommodate the busy schedules of our parents and students, you have the option of attending class 10:00 a.m.–11:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m.–3:00 p.m. Wednesdays and 10:00 a.m.–11:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m.–3:00 pm Fridays, completing a total of three hours of instruction per week. Courses are taught by our Associate Director of Research, Dr. Allen Viehmeyer.

Contact Rebecca Lawrence, Museum Educator, for additional registration information and form.

Homeschool Group Tours

Our homeschool group programs are scheduled on an individual family basis, accommodating two or more family groups. These thematic tours on weaving, genealogy, immigration, local history, folk art and German language last an hour long.
