Foreign Language Programs
The Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center has an extensive collection of German language books and manuscripts as well as Pennsylvania German art and artifacts. We offer guided tours, family and homeschool German classes and workshops, and school tours related to the German Language.
Guided Tours
For German speaking visitors and foreign language students, schedule a tour of the Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center with a German speaking guide. To schedule a German language tour, please contact Allen Viehmeyer, Associate Director of Research, 215–679–3103.
Beginner-Advanced German and Latin for Homeschoolers
Beginner-Advanced German and Latin courses are offered on a month by month basis throughout the school year for homeschoolers from September through May. To accommodate the busy schedules of our parents and students, you have the option of attending class 10:00 a.m.–11:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m.–3:00 p.m. Wednesdays and 10:00 a.m.–11:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m.–3:00 pm Fridays, completing a total of three hours of instruction per week and eight classes per monthly session.

PA German Dialect Conversation Group
Our group meets on a month to month basis to discuss topics in PA Dutch! There's no charge to join our conversation group and no R.S.V.P is required. Winter and Spring 2012 meetings occur on January 19, February 16, March 15, April 19, and May 17, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Heritage Center's meeting room. We provide coffee and tea during the meeting. Topics for conversation change each month. German Reading Knowledge for Adults
Monthly evening classes from 6:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. are available for adults wanting to improve their reading knowledge of German. Courses will be taught by Allen Viehmeyer, Associate Director of Research, on Thursday evenings from 6:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. $80.00 per participant. the Schwenkfelders and other German immigrants. Go behind the scenes
for a special tour of our archive. As part of your visit, we'll
arrange a German meal at a local restaurant.
